Brief Profile:

Currently is the Scientist ‘C’ with the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) India’s premier research nutrition research institute under the Ministry of Health, Government of India. He specializes in Communication & Journalism. His areas of research interest are Nutrition & Food Safety Communication with special emphasis on nutrition education for adolescents and other groups of community using different media and methods; KABP Studies on Food Safety; Nutrition Policy Advocacy.

He has over 20 Research Papers, 2 Book Chapters, over 15 papers in proceedings of national/international conference and 25 popular and newspaper articles to his credit. He scripted and directed educational films on Nutrition and developed many communication material.

He also co-ordinates of the Secretariat of WHO Southeast Asia Nutrition Research-cum-Action Network of 11 member countries. He also edits the half-yearly newsletter of the Network.

He serves as a guest faculty and resource person for training programmes at prestigious institutes such as ANGRAU, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Food & Nutrition Board, ICMR School of Public Health. He is a recipient of awards and honors including, Platinum City Strategist Award-2009 from Foundation for Futuristic Cities, Hyderabad; IAMCR Travel Grant Award 2010 at IAMCR Conference Portugal; Young Scientist Travel Grant Award at 19th ICN 2009, Thailand; JN Bose Memorial Award in Community Nutrition from Indian Dietetic Association in 2008; Young Scientist Award from Nutrition Society of India in 2004; Young Investigator’s Grant to attend 18th ICN in South Africa in 2005.
